Mentor Program

The Shelby County Youth Assistance Program is accepting applications for youth to register to be involved in our mentoring programs. We offer group mentoring and individual mentoring.

Youth must reside in Shelby County. For more information about the programs available, please contact our staff about the process. Parents/Guardians may submit an application for youth participation in mentoring using the application below and will be contacted about next steps.

Individual Mentoring

Individual mentoring serves youth between the ages of 8-16. Mentors meet with mentees each week for at least 1 hour. Mentors and their mentees schedule meetups and plan activities together. The mentoring program is available to provide opportunities to introduce youth to new activities, share positive values, provide support and offer encouragement during critical life stages. Additional options include mentoring during lunch at specified elementary schools.

Group Mentoring

Group mentoring provides an opportunity for youth to have a safe space to have fun, build relationships with other youth and adults, and to be validated and accepted. For more information, please contact our office to learn about options available.
